In a study by SONECOM conducted in early 2008 on behalf of La Libre Belgique, Dimanche, RTBF, Lumen Vitae and the Catholic University of Leuven, the Belgian Francophones surveyed described themselves as :
"Committed to religious traditions" : 80%
"Believers" : 68%
"Catholics" : 43%
"Atheists" : 17%
"Agnostics : 10%
"Campaigners for organised secularity” : 0.8%
"Muslims" : 12%
