Gauging religious affiliation

No official statistics on religious affiliation are provided.
In a study by SONECOM conducted in early 2008 on behalf of La Libre Belgique, Dimanche, RTBF, Lumen Vitae and the Catholic University of Leuven, the Belgian Francophones surveyed described themselves as:

"Committed to religious traditions": 80%
"Believers": 68%
"Catholics": 43%
"Atheists": 17%
"Agnostics: 10%
"Campaigners for organised secularity”: 0.8%
"Muslims": 12%
