Funeral practices
The administrative order DPR 10/09/1990 allow the possibilities of allowing non-Catholics dedicated areas in cemeteries. In Cimitero Parco in Turin, an Islamic area is available and an Orthodox is about to be built.
Moreover, this solution is adopted in various Italian cities, such as, but not only, Rome, Ferrara, Padova and Verona.
A relatively recent field of research is represented by non-religious funeral ceremonies. Various municipalities allowed the building of non-religious rooms, to perform the ceremony in cemeteries, and the building of crematoria, for the cremation of the dead bodies. This happened in Bolzano (1998), Treviso (2000) and Padova (2011). Such good practices are much more followed than before, even if not very common.
