Santé et religion en Irlande

Religious institutions – particularly the Catholic Church – have long played an important role in health provision in Ireland. Many of the country’s hospitals, for example, were established and run by Catholic religious orders and congregations. Owing to Catholic personnel declines, however, the involvement of religious in the health infrastructure is mainly confined to safeguarding the ethos and mission of these institutions rather than their day-to-day administration and management.
