Eurel international conferences

The Eurel correspondents meet once a year.
The Eurel network organises every second year a conference for specialists of law and social sciences of religions, in addition to the yearly correspondents meeting.

The next conference s scheduled for 2025 in Bratislava.

The latest conference took place in 2023 in Lausanne, with a focus on the issues of Modernity, Sexuality and Religion.

The previous conference tool place in 2021 in Porto on the topic of Regulating religions. Scheduled for 2020, it had been postponed because of the sanitary crisis of the Coronavirus 19.

The 2018 conference took place in Oslo (Norway), 26-27 September on the topic Formatting Nonreligion in Late Modern Societies - Institutional and Legal Perspectives.

The 2016 conference took place in Luxembourg, September 29-30, on the topic of Governance and religion. It was organised jointly with the Faculty of Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Educations of the University of Luxembourg. There were 39 contributors, and some 35 participants.
In 2012 and 2014, the topic of the conferences has been Religion and territory.

The 2014 conference took place in Lublin (Poland) and was entitled Religion in floating territories. It was organised jointly with the Faculty of Law of the John Paul II University of Lublin. Papers given during this conference have been published in Studia z Prawa Wyznaniowego (Studies in Law on Religion) 18, 2015.

In 2012, the conference took place in Manchester. It was organised jointly by the Eurel network and the Center for Research on Socio-Cultural Change, CRESC, University of Manchester. Some of the papers given during this conference were published as a thematic section "Religions and territories", in International Review of Sociology / Revue Internationale de Sociologie 2015, 2.
